Learning supplies, how difficult to find!

Not many days ago we were out in Taranto and we had an idea, to search for a book to help Giannis with learning italian, a hard business, how is it possible that there are so many books meant to teach to foreing that don't include an international language like English, understandable by the many? It's absurd to think that someone that doesn't have not even a base can find it helpful, and is even more absurd to think that behind those that want to learn there's always a teacher ready to explain or native speakers able to teach, for example me, Maria, I do my best but I know I don't have enough skills. And so my question is why do publishers use this obsolete method for textbooks designed to learn a language? In 2019 everyone should be able to learn by themselves, taking their own times and maybe being comfortably at home with nobody around, so please, if someone of you is a book editor, think about it, for the love of knowledge, make something easy and underst...

Finally back and together!

We are finally back and together! After so many months not writing on the blog and after many things going on in our life, we are now taking our next steps towards findind our happiness. We moved together to Italy on 17th of September after we spent few days in Greece to meet with Gianni's family, everything went fine and they seemed to approve us as a couple, so from now on we can start making plans about our wedding, but not before we settle properly in a place of our own. It's not that easy, what we noticed is that there's a big difference between our two countries and the modality to rent a place, here in Italy for example isn't easy to find rental apartments, people seem to prefer to sell, especially in small villages like the one Maria's family live in, and if you are so lucky to find one, the price to pay a month is almost like the one you would pay if you decide to make a mortgage, from 400 euros and up. In Greece instead things are different, you...

A walk around: Serres

Since we have said very little about our cities we have decided to take you around and introduce you to the places where we live. Today for example we will talk about the beautiful and charming city of Serres , birth place of Giannis . It's a city set between mountains Vrontous and Menoiko and crossed from river "Strymon" The city is great for nature lovers because it is consisted by numerous natural landscapes includind mountains, forests, rivers and the beautiful artificial lake of Kerkini. But if the scenic beauty of the place is already a point, another are the places of historical importance, such as the archaeological Museum, a building built in the late 1400s during the Ottoman era. Inside there are finds that go from the prehistoric age to the Hellenistic age, with finds of Roman origin, others instead concerning the Ottoman past of the city. In short, a place full of the echo of the great past of the city. But the cit...

Let's talk of: Interpals

With the advent of the internet and the digital era many distances have been shortened, for example if it was almost impossible to know and entertain friendships with people in another place on the earth nowadays is as easy as drinking a cup of tea. And how does this wonderful miracle happen? Easy, thanks to sites dedicated to the interaction between people. Today we will talk in particular of the one that made everything possible between us, Interpals. Interpals is a site in which people from all over the world can exchange language lesson with each other, share interests, make friendships or like our case perhaps something more. It looks like an old style site, the graphics are simple not very pretentious to be used. It requires a registration dedicated to the creation of a profile where it will be possible to add photos, personal interests, job and specify what you are looking for: pen pals, people to meet, romantic relationships or teachers to practice languages. There's also...

How we met and our tips for a succeful relationship

We had both just joined a well known site to meet people from all over the world, and as usual on these sites, you lose a little time wandering around the profiles and having a chat with people with whom you will stop talking after a while. What made the difference in our case is the fact that Maria didn't know how to use the site and misclicked on my profile more than once,so i decided to send her a message. In the beginning obviously we did'nt know what to expect from each other but with time we discovered we have many things in common and slowly started to form a bond between us. After few months we decided that we had to go live together but we didn't succeed because of financial problems, and this started putting our relationship in a situation that requires a lot of mental resistance, some days are really happy, some days instead we would probably like to fight each other, but it is precisely in those moments of desperation that we feel we cannot let things g...
